MCCQE1 Results 2026: Release Dates by Batch, Reading Your Report and Next Steps

MCCQE1 results for 2026 arrive in a fixed rhythm: four weeks after a session closes (five after the April session), released into your physiciansapply.ca account, with the autumn sitting scored in three batches. This post gives the 2026 release dates, explains what the Statement of Results and Supplemental Feedback Report actually show, how to share a result with CaRMS before the provincial deadlines, and what to do in the first week after a pass or a fail.

MCCQE1 results release dates 2026

The MCC’s rule is “4 weeks after the last day of the January, August and October session, and 5 weeks after the last day of the April session”; for the 2026 extended session it releases results “in three processing batches rather than all at once”. The batch boundaries are those published by the IMG-BC office for the 2026–27 CaRMS cycle, which also notes the shorter timeline for batch 2. Exact release days are set by the MCC and announced on physiciansapply.ca.

Where the result appears and what it contains

Results are posted to your physiciansapply.ca account; the MCC does not email scores. You receive two documents. The Statement of Results is the official pass/fail record with your total score on the 300–600 scale, where the pass score is 439. The Supplemental Feedback Report is the one worth reading slowly: it shows how you performed relative to the pass standard across the exam’s blueprint — the four dimensions of care (health promotion and illness prevention, acute, chronic, psychosocial) and the four physician activities (assessment and diagnosis, management, communication, professional behaviours). It does not give a score per specialty, and it is not a percentage. Most candidates read the total and stop; the feedback report is where a retake plan, or a residency interview answer about your strengths, comes from.

One number puts a 2026 score in context: in the MCC’s 2025–26 year 61% of all candidates passed — 91% of Canadian graduates and 48% of international graduates on a first attempt, 37% on a repeat. The scale runs from 300 to 600 and the pass mark of 439 was set by a 2025 standard-setting exercise that made the exam measurably harder to pass than it had been. A pass is a real achievement in 2026, whatever the number beside it, and programs see that number on your Statement of Results.

Sharing your result with CaRMS and the provinces

A result is only useful to a residency application once it is in your file. Sharing is done from physiciansapply.ca, which sends the Statement of Results to CaRMS (and to any program or regulator you designate) — allow for the transfer to take a day or two, and do it the day the result posts. For the 2026–27 cycle the deadlines that bite are British Columbia’s October 21, 2026 (8:59 p.m. Pacific) sharing deadline for August–September results and Alberta’s October 23 deadline; BC accepts results only from the batches ending by September 29, which is why the MCC shortened batch 2’s timeline. Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Atlantic provinces set their own dates each cycle — check the program descriptions on CaRMS rather than relying on last year’s. Batch 3 results, arriving in mid-November, are too late for most 2027-match IMG streams but not for PRA programs or the 2028 cycle.

If you passed

Since January 26, 2026 a pass on the MCCQE plus a successfully source-verified medical degree earns the LMCC automatically — no year of Canadian training is required any more, and there is no fee if you applied for the exam after that date ($50 if you applied before). Your digital LMCC number appears in your physiciansapply.ca account once both conditions are met. The pass does not expire; see how long the MCCQE is valid for. Then turn to whatever the next exam is on your route — the NAC Examination for most CaRMS IMG streams, the TDM Examination for Practice-Ready Assessment.

If you did not pass

Take a day. Then open the Supplemental Feedback Report and rank the eight blueprint categories from weakest to strongest, because that ranking decides which 2027 session you should book. The January 2027 session (January 19 – February 11) is already open for scheduling and April 2027 opens in late November; a near-miss with two or three clear weak areas can go in January, a broad shortfall should take April. You have four attempts in total, with a one-year wait after a third. If you believe there was an administrative error, the MCC offers an appeal process for a $1,200 fee — it is a review of process, not a re-marking, and it rarely changes a result. Waiting for a result: what to do with the four weeks

If a CaRMS deadline is close, prepare the rest of the application as if you passed. If you are considering a retake, keep answering questions at a lower intensity rather than stopping entirely — a candidate who stops for a month and then restarts after a fail loses six weeks, not four.
